Masae Barbotte - Piano
Biography
Masae Gimbayashi-Barbotte was born in Tokyo, where she was an honors graduate of the Oin High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree of International Christian University. In 1992 she received Piano’s Teaching Diploma in Unanimity with jury’s congratulation from Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, where she worked with pianists Serge Petitgirard, Victoria Melki, and with violinist Serge Blanc. Since 10 years she worked closely with pianist Jay Gottlieb, who worked with Nadia Boulanger and Robert Casadessus, also with pianists Catherine Collard, Yvonne Loriod, Dominique Merle, Claude Heifer, Pierre-Laurent Aimed and Martial Solal.
Masae is recipient of the Flaine Music Festival’s funds, the Acanthe Festival’s funds, First Prize's winner of the Concours de Madeleine de Valmalete(France) in Unanimity with jury’s congratulation, Excellent Prize of Asia Music Concert (Japan), Belgian Section’s Prize of the Academie Européenne des Arts(France).
She has given many recitals in France and Japan, City Hall of Courbevoie, Eglise St.Marcel of Allevard-les-Bains, Theatre de Bourges, the Auditorium Rostropovitch in Beauvais, Tokyo Opera-Citiy Iris Hall, Koma Epta-Zaal, Iwasaki museam in Yakohama,...
She is dedicateur and also often a world first createur of works: For Piano of Fumio Yasuda, First Christians and Concerto of Michel Bosc, Dieu? and Etude arpegique de concert of Christian Torunay, 9 Esquisses de Serge Ollve.
She has collaborated with singers such as Dominique Guillevan-Lebrun, Yukiko Suzaki, Genevieve Renaud, Maki Orita, and the artists as Ako Badilian, Aki Wakunai.
