Biography
FABRIZIO D’ANTONIO
Born in Perugia (Italy) in 1969.
He graduates in foreign languages (english, french, german) in a secondary school in Perugia.
He starts his musical studies as a drummer at the age of 10 playing, later, with many different kinds of bands and ensembles.
He graduates in Percussion Instruments in 1996 at Perugia Conservatory of Music, where he also obtains the secondary level Diploma in 2006.
He is actually studying jazz improvisation, composition and arrangement with pianist Paolo di Sabatino.
He attends masterclasses and courses with Italian and international percussion soloists/professionals/teachers such as: David Friedman, Michael Rosen, David Searcy, Mike Quinn, Gert Mortensen, Maurizio Ben Omar, Antonio Catone, Andrea Dulbecco, Danilo Grassi Gabriele Bianchi, Loris Lenti.
He collaborates as percussionist and timpanist with most of the main Italian orchestras. Among them:

With some of the above orchestras he tours Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, China, the USA, Israel, Palestinian Territories.
These are the most important conductors he works with: Riccardo Muti, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Carlo Maria Giulini, Lorin Maazel, Georges Prêtre, Yuri Temirkanov, Yuri Ahronovich, Gary Bertini, Mtislav Rostropovic, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Antonio Pappano, Eliahu Inbal, Dmitri Kitajenko, Ghennady Rozhdestvenskij, Rudolf Barshaj, Gyorgy Gyorivany Ràth, Aleksandr Lazarev, Roberto Abbado, Sylvain Cambreling, Patrick Fournillier, Yoram David, Leo Brower, Julian Kovatchev, Hans Graf, Gustav Kuhn, John Neschling, Arturo Tamayo, Gianluigi Gelmetti.
As far as chamber music is concerned: he is founder and member (until 2007) of percussion ensemble Tetraktis-percussioni.
With this group he records 4 CDs, plays concerts at main festivals and concert houses in Italy and tours in Germany, the U.S.A., Nigeria, Sweden and Turkey.
He recently collaborates with different kinds of groups of the jazz (and other) scene of his town.
