Currently living in Brighton, Debbie has sung the roles Maria, (WestSide Story), Despina, (Cosi fan tutte), Fraskita (Carmen), Lady Billows, (Albert Herring), Susannah (The Marriage of Figaro), Virtue and Valletto (The Coronation of Poppea), Musetta (La Boheme), Casilda (The Gondoliers) and Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus). She’s also sung with the D’Oyly Carte in their production of HMS Pinafore, including both the recording (under the label of TER Records) and tour to the US.
Debbie has also been privileged to perform at the Weiner Saal, in Salzburg during the world famous Festival season. Her performing career to date allows her to work in Germany, Austria, England, Scotland, Wales and Canada. She has worked in the West End of London at the Savoy Theatre and the Royal Festival Hall. She’s even sung for Prince Andrew! Debbie has performed at both the Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. In the later, she was a part of a new project known as Opera Galactica, by Richard Lewis, which is loosely based on the Star Wars story line only using extracts from Opera.
Her concert work has been extensive and wide reaching as well. Debbie regularly does solo concerts and recitals and a variety of oratorio work. Debbie was also a member of a group of five female singers, known as Scene Stealers – performing scenes and arias from operas in a new and unique cabaret style, without losing anything in the singing.
Singing a wide range of styles of music has always been of importance and she performs music from Monteverdi to Modern. New Music Brighton regularly asks her to perform with them which have lead to concerts as well as organising and running workshops with them. In addition to her performing work, Debbie conducts workshops/master classes for both adults and children.
