Biography

At the age of 5 and born with a natural singing voice, Deborah Dee already knew that she wanted to perform. But it was not opera that she first dreamt of way back in the Philippines where she was born and raised, she dreamt of the Big White Way, Broadway. But after hearing her first opera, Carmen, she knew that this was the genre she was meant to be part of. She wanted to be Carmen, but sadly, she found out that she was a soprano. But luckily, there are many an exciting soprano part as well, and she started her first voice lesson while taking her MBA. While her educational background was in Technology and Business, it's not surprising that she quickly acquired the necessary skills to sing opera based on years of playing the piano, and her natural interest in languages. So great is her passion for opera, that as she makes her living as a banker at a prestigious investment bank, she pursues her operatic career after work and on weekends attending rehearsals and performing regularly at various operatic venues. She is very excited to hav been chosen by the Scottish National Opera and will be experiencing her first European audition.
